Welcome
Eddy Moon is a prolific songwriter who kicked off his career back in 1980. His debut album, "One on One," followed in 1986, and he's been going strong ever since — writing music for film and television, earning recognition as an award-winning audio engineer, and building a reputation as a celebrated graphic artist. With 8 studio albums to his name, Eddy is also an accomplished singer and guitarist who often plays multiple instruments on his own recordings.

One on One
Raised in rural Ontario on the family farm near the small town of Bowmanville, Ed was inspired by art and music from an early age.
After getting his first guitar for his 15th birthday, he started writing songs almost right away. By 19 he set his sights on something bigger: a full album called “One On One.” In the summer of 1985, with thirteen songs in hand, he headed into the studio and recorded it start to finish, playing most of the instruments himself and singing every vocal live off the floor. This recording still captures his raw, early writing and vocal style.
Originally released in 1986 on cassette only, the album sold out its first pressing around Bowmanville and the neighbouring towns within a few short months. Luckily, the original tapes were saved before they completely deteriorated. Now, forty years later, we're celebrating with this proper digital release — all thirteen songs preserved here in a fully remastered version.
Arranging and producing "One on One" marked the start of Eddy's life as a recording artist — a journey that began with a single guitar and grew into a career of songwriting and shows across Canada and Europe. Before recording the album, Eddy, Sean Penhale, and George Mallette had played together in bars; on "One on One," Eddy handled guitar and vocals, Sean played bass, George played drums, and Ron Parker added tuba.
Ed Bohlken (Eddy Moon): all vocals, all guitars, banjo, synth, piano & bass on 1 & 4. Sean Penhale: bass on 8 & 10. Steve Sporina: bass all other songs. George Mallette: all percussion instruments. Ron Parker: tuba. Engineered by Ron Henson / Don Chennie. Recorded & mixed at Sporina Studios. Track 8 recorded at Ambassador Records, mixed at Sporina Studios. Remastered at The Moon Tune Room, 2026. Liner notes by Rachel Corbet. Photography by Gwyneth Powell.
